Ingredients

Part A

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
  • ½ cup margarine
  • ½ cup milk
  • Dash of salt

Part B

  • 3 cups quick-cooking oats
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps

  1. Measure and have all Part B ingredients ready before beginning.

Part A

  1. Combine all Part A ingredients (sugar, cocoa, margarine, milk, and salt) in a saucepan and bring to a rapid boil.
  2. Boil for 1 minute.

Part B

  1. Immediately add all Part B ingredients (oats, peanut butter, and vanilla extract) to the hot mixture.
  1. Mix well.
  2. Working quickly, drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.
  3. Allow to cool and set before serving.
