Ingredients

  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • Scant ½ cup shortening
  • 1 cup mashed bananas
  • 4 tablespoons sour milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ cup nut meats

Steps

  1. Cream together the shortening and sugar until light.
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  3. Stir in the mashed bananas and sour milk.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the nut meats.
  7. Pour batter into a greased pan. No pan size, oven temperature, or baking time is given on the card.
  8. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
