Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 cup flour
  • ⅓ cup chocolate milk powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Filling

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
  • 1 cup small curd creamed cottage cheese
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup milk

Steps

Crust

  1. Stir together flour, chocolate milk powder, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Blend the flour mixture into the butter mixture. (Note: card says "blend in malt mixture" — likely refers to this dry mix.)
  4. Set aside ¼ cup of the crumb mixture. Press the remaining crumb mixture into the bottom and ¼ inch up the sides of an ungreased 9-inch pan.
  5. Bake in a 350° oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
  6. Spread the reserved ¼ cup crumb mixture on a baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes; set aside for topping.

Filling

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together the cream cheese and cottage cheese until smooth.
  2. Gradually add ½ cup sugar, creaming well.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla; beat at low speed on an electric mixer just until blended.
  4. Stir in 2 tablespoons flour.
  5. Add milk, blending until smooth.
  6. Pour the filling mixture into the baked crust.
  7. Bake at 350° until a knife inserted just off-center comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes.
  8. Top with the reserved baked crumb mixture before serving.
