O Butter - Choc. Chip Cookies

Ingredients
- 1¼ cups flour
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup margarine (oleo), softened
- ½ cup peanut butter (either smooth or chunky)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl; set aside.
- Beat margarine until creamy. Beat in sugar and peanut butter until smooth.
- Add egg and vanilla; mix well.
- Stir in the dry ingredients until blended.
- Add chocolate chips and stir to combine.
- Optional (as noted by the baker): chill dough in the refrigerator before baking.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Flatten each ball with a fork, making a criss-cross design.
- Bake about 8 minutes, until edges are golden.
- Cool on the cookie sheet for 1 minute before removing.
