Ingredients

  • 3 pounds butter
  • 2 pounds confectioners' sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • ¼ cup vanilla
  • 4 cups flour
  • Optional mix-ins: chocolate chips, nuts, and/or raisins (or whatever you want)
  • Confectioners' sugar for topping (optional)

Steps

  1. Whip the butter for 15–20 minutes until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the next 3 ingredients (confectioners' sugar, eggs, and vanilla) and mix to combine.
  3. Add the flour last and mix until incorporated.
  4. Fold in optional mix-ins (chocolate chips, nuts, raisins, or other additions) if desired.
  5. Drop or shape cookies onto a baking sheet and bake at 359°F. (Baking time not specified on card.)
  6. Alternatively, bake plain and sprinkle confectioners' sugar on top when done.
