Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 cup Wesson Oil
  • 1 small box strawberry Jell-O
  • 1 cup strawberries, mashed (drain most of juice off)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup flaked coconut *(optional)*
  • 1 cup chopped nuts *(optional)*

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine all ingredients — white cake mix, Wesson Oil, strawberry Jell-O, mashed strawberries, milk, eggs, and (if using) coconut and chopped nuts — in a large bowl and mix together thoroughly.
  3. Pour batter into three greased 9-inch layer cake pans or one greased sheet cake pan.
  4. Bake at 350°F for approximately 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
