Ingredients
Crust
- 1 cup flour
- ⅓ cup chocolate milk powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Filling
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
- 1 cup small curd creamed cottage cheese
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup milk
Steps
Crust
- Stir together flour, chocolate milk powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Blend the flour mixture into the butter mixture. (Note: card says "blend in malt mixture" — likely refers to this dry mix.)
- Set aside ¼ cup of the crumb mixture. Press the remaining crumb mixture into the bottom and ¼ inch up the sides of an ungreased 9-inch pan.
- Bake in a 350° oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Spread the reserved ¼ cup crumb mixture on a baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes; set aside for topping.
Filling
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the cream cheese and cottage cheese until smooth.
- Gradually add ½ cup sugar, creaming well.
- Add eggs and vanilla; beat at low speed on an electric mixer just until blended.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons flour.
- Add milk, blending until smooth.
- Pour the filling mixture into the baked crust.
- Bake at 350° until a knife inserted just off-center comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes.
- Top with the reserved baked crumb mixture before serving.
