Ingredients

  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 can crushed pineapple with juice
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (dry)
  • 2 sticks (½ cup) margarine, melted
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup coconut
  • Whipped cream, for serving

Steps

  1. Grease a cake pan.
  2. Layer ingredients in the pan in the order listed above: spread the cherry pie filling across the bottom, then the crushed pineapple with its juice, then sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top, then drizzle the melted margarine over the cake mix, then scatter the chopped nuts and coconut over everything.
  3. Press down firmly with your hands before baking.
  4. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
  5. Serve with whipped cream.
