Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Steps

  1. Combine shortening, sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, egg, salt, and vanilla; mix well.
  2. Stir in baking soda, flour, and baking powder until a dough forms.
  3. Roll dough into balls.
  4. Place on a baking sheet and press each ball with a fork before baking.
  5. Bake at 350° until done.
