Stuffed Shells

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef (hamburger)
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • ¼ cup bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 12 oz. mozzarella cheese, grated
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 2 teaspoons parsley flakes
  • 1 quart spaghetti sauce
  • ¼ cup sharp cheese, grated
  • 16 oz. large pasta shells
  • Italian seasoning, to taste

Steps

  1. Cook the large shells according to package directions. Set aside to cool until cool enough to handle.
  2. In a bowl, combine the eggs and bread crumbs; mix together.
  3. Fry the hamburger and onion in oil until cooked through. Add Italian seasoning to taste.
  4. Combine the cooked meat mixture with the egg-and-breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Add the grated mozzarella cheese, parsley flakes, and pepper. Mix well.
  6. Stuff the cooled shells with the meat-and-cheese filling.
  7. Arrange stuffed shells in a baking dish.
  8. Pour spaghetti sauce over the shells.
  9. Top with grated sharp cheese.
  10. Cover and bake at 350° for the first 10 minutes, then uncover and continue baking for a total of 30–40 minutes.
